No New Posts Underground Ice Cavern

These interconnecting ice caverns are located underneath the city and were naturally created by the ocean water eroding away the ice. Seals and other animals live in these ice caverns, and the only way to get to them is to swim underneath the freezing water.

No New Posts Frozen Tundra

This massive stretch of arctic tundra covers most of the North Pole. The treacherous terrain makes it impossible for anyone to live there. Only highly skilled, arctic hunters travel on the terrain, hunting the animals that live there, and they never stay longer than a few days at a time. Heavy winter blizzards constantly pelt the tundra, and unstable ice sheets often give way under the slightest pressure. Even experienced waterbenders and warriors think twice about venturing into this dangerous environment.

No New Posts White Lotus Compound

The Southern Water Tribe compound lies deep within the South Pole. It is a small, isolated encampment secured by thick ice walls and a large gate. The enclosure features several watchtowers, large buildings for shelter, an obstacle course and sub-level pens lined with hay for animals. A large raised platform made of ice is located in the center of the camp, for young water benders to train their bending skills and for combat practice. In the generations that passed since the Hundred Year War, this wreck has been looted and eventually turned into a museum, displaying relics of the war and preserving stories written about the war, as a reminder to all how horrible war can be. No New Posts Ba Sing Se

Ba Sing Se is a divided city, with inhabitants sorted in various walled "rings" based on economic and social class. These range from the Lower Ring, a place of ghettos inhabited by refugees and the poor, to the Upper Ring, home of the Kingdom's ruling classes and the rich. Travel throughout the city, in addition to entering and exiting it, is provided by large, earthbending powered monorails. The monorails meet in large transit stations, are free to the general public, and are able to greatly shorten the two full days it would take to travel on foot from one end of the city to the other. Citizens are free to travel between the Agrarian Zone, the Lower Ring, and the Middle Ring. The Upper Ring is restricted to citizens with the personal invitation of a citizen of the Upper Ring, the government, or the Earth King himself.

No New Posts City of Omashu

The city of Omashu sits within the Kolau Mountain Range, surrounded on all sides by steep canyons and an enormous gorge. The city's three gates are composed of massive stone, each five feet thick and towering over thirty feet high. As a result, the gates can only be opened by skilled earthbenders who guard its only entrance. The city itself is built on a number of hills. The Palace sits on the tallest hill, which is centered behind some other hills. The city has thousands of houses for ordinary citizens and nobles as well as hundreds of shops, restaurants and pottery workshops. The city also has a complex mail system. No New Posts The Great Devide

The Great Divide can be crossed in about a full day if one has or is an expert guide. Although having a typically arid climate, the canyon is home to various insects and omnivorous arachnoid creatures, most notable being canyon crawlers. These creatures possess a superior sense of smell and will attack passerby if they are carrying food. The single way down the canyon is by a narrow path along the sheer cliff wall. The canyon itself is wrought with missing sections of wall and spontaneous avalanches. Therefore, the aid of an earthbending guide who is familiar with the secrets of the canyon, and able to reconstruct or deconstruct sections of the trail, is recommended when crossing this massive gorge.

No New Posts Cave of Two Lovers

Located near the city of Omashu in the Earth Kingdom, the Cave of Two Lovers, also known as the Secret Tunnel. The "tunnel" is actually a giant underground labyrinth full of dangerous animals, including wolfbats and the gigantic badgermoles. It was also shown to be impossible to map the maze because the badgermoles earthbend the tunnels regularly; this prevents any sort of normal navigation. To find one's way out of the tunnels, they must "trust in love" and relinquish one's dependence on torches and any sort of natural lighting; if one does so, then shining crystals will guide the way.

No New Posts Downtown

From phonographs to fish jerky, downtown Republic City is a cultural melting pot of shops and stands featuring goods from all three nations. It is the political, economic, and cultural center of Republic City, protected by a massive police presence carried by their headquarters and airships. Despite this, the downtown suffers from organized crime like the rest of Republic City; the Triple Threat Triad, the largest bending triad of the whole city, claims the downtown as their turf and run protection rackets in this area.
